Group Psychotherapy
Why Group Therapy?
Studies have shown group therapy to be a powerful catalyst of personal growth and one of the most effective ways to treat some of the more prevalent adolescent and adult responses to anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, self-injury and eating disorders.
Group therapy gives people a nurturing peer environment in which to share emotional experiences, find acceptance and a sense of belonging, gain insight into attitudes, beliefs, feelings, interaction with others, and develop alternative ways of responding to normal developmental issues and social conflict. It is affordable and helps many people to achieve self-discovery through the development of greater self-awareness, self-confidence, and self-respect.
Group work can also be helpful as an adjunct to individual therapy.
